"I don't want this to end either," he said.
"But it has to."
"Yes. But not right now. You do know that, right?"
Yugi tried to smile, and failed. He didn't hear his other self move, but he felt the brush of air that was the spirit's arm wrapping around his shoulders. Yugi leaned his head against his friend, silent in a moment of melancholy that wasn't all bad. The Pharaoh's spirit projection was somehow almost warm, and his presence had the effect of making all the inevitable bad things in life seem so far away. The spirit's "hugs" were mostly in the mind, a blanket of comfort, love and reassurance around Yugi's thoughts. Yugi returned it, wrapping his arms around the spirit's waist and sending his own happy thoughts back through their link. If someone had just walked in, they would have been greeted with a weird sight of Yugi hugging empty air. He didn't care. Not right now.
"Yeah, I know," he managed to say.
He hugged the Pharaoh a bit tighter.
